Critically acclaimed and award-winning jazz pianist Christian Jacob’s style embodies the spirit of Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson, Dave Brubeck and Keith Jarrett. Born in Lorraine, France, the nine-year-old Jacob was bit hard and fast by the Dave Brubeck Quartet’s ‘Take Five’ and never looked back. Maynard Ferguson described Jacob as a genius and virtuoso. The New York Times, Jazz Times and Keyboard magazine heaped high praise on Jacob and Jazz Times lauded him “a post-bop modernist touched by the souls of Bill Evans and Keith Jarrett.”
Jacob’s storied recording and performing history includes touring around the globe and work with jazz legends: Flora Purim and Airto Moreira, Miroslav Vitous, Randy Brecker, Bill Holman and also Broadway legend Betty Buckley.
After scoring two major motion pictures for director Clint Eastwood, “Sully” and “The 15:17 to Paris”, Jacob decided to record his 2019 release The Originals. It marked the first time that Jacob created and delivered a project solely based on his original and seductive compositions. Recorded with his longtime bandmates Trey Henry and Ray Brinker, it is an intuitive jazz trio recording with eight of the tracks having the added depth of strings.
In 2023 Jacob garnered his 8th Grammy nomination for “Remembering Bob Freedman,” featuring bassist Ron Carter and the Swiss Youth Jazz Orchestra
Ray Brinker received a Bachelor Of Music in Jazz Studies from North Texas State University, and performed as a member of NTSU’s Grammy-nominated 1 O’Clock Lab Band.
Upon graduation from NTSU, Ray toured worldwide with jazz high-note trumpet player Maynard Ferguson before moving to the West Coast, where he has become a staple in the Los Angeles studio and performance scene.
As a founding, 30-year member of the Tierney Sutton Band, Ray has co-arranged and recorded 11 CDs. The band has garnered 6 consecutive Grammy Nominations for “Best Jazz Vocal Album”, and Ray has received a Grammy Nomination as co-arranger for “Best Arrangement Accompanying A Vocalist”
Ray is also a member of the Grammy winning Gordon Goodwin Big Phat Band
A native of Los Angeles, Trey has had many opportunities to perform with a wide variety of artists such as Stevie Wonder, Henry Mancini, Herbie Hancock, Natalie Cole, Willie Nelson, Lady Gaga, James Taylor, Aretha Franklin, Michelle Legrand, Idina Menzel, Aaron Neville, Dizzie Gillespie and Alan and Marilyn Bergman.
He appears on more than 300 recordings with various artists including Ray Charles, Maynard Ferguson, Linda Ronstadt, Boz Scaggs, Gerald Wilson, Tom Scott, Steve Allen and Lalo Schifrin. His work with vocalist Tierney Sutton has resulted in seven Grammy nominations.
Currently featured on Apple TV’s The Peanuts, Trey has worked on numerous T.V. productions ranging from “The Family Guy”, “The Mandalorian” and “American Dad” to “American Idol”, “The Voice”, the Emmy Awards, the Academy Awards and “Dancing With The Stars”.
